Vānaprastha-vṛtti and the Transition toward the Fourth Āśrama (वानप्रस्थवृत्तिः चतुर्थाश्रमोपक्रमश्च)

निर्मुच्यमान: सूक्ष्मत्वाद्‌ रूपाणीमानि पश्यत: । शैशिरस्तु यथा धूम: सूक्ष्म: संश्रयते नभ:

nirmucyamānaḥ sūkṣmatvād rūpāṇīmāni paśyataḥ | śaiśirastu yathā dhūmaḥ sūkṣmaḥ saṃśrayate nabhaḥ ||

Vyāsa sprach: „Wenn der Übende von der Identifikation mit dem groben Körper gelöst wird und in der Meditation fest gegründet bleibt, dann erscheinen ihm — weil sein Sehen fein geworden ist — gewisse Zeichen und Gestalten. Zu Beginn, wenn er den Geist in der Betrachtung des Erdelements festhält, ist es, als breite sich ein zarter Schleier, wie winterlicher Nebel oder feiner Rauch, subtil über den ganzen Himmel aus und hafte an ihm.“
