Yoga-kṛtya (योककृत्य) — Vyāsa on Sense-Restraint, Obstacles, and Brahman-Realization

आत्मसिद्धिस्तु वेदेषु प्रोच्यते दशभि: क्रमै: । यदुक्तं वेदवादेषु गहनं वेददर्शिभि: । तदन्तेषु यथायुक्तं क्रमयोगेन लक्ष्यते,आत्मा (के मोक्ष) की सिद्धि तो वेदोंमें दस- उपायोंद्वारा बतायी जाती है। जो गहन ([दुर्बोध) ब्रह्म वेदवाक्योंमें वेददर्शी विद्वानोंद्वारा वर्णित हुआ है और वेदान्तवचनोंमें जिसका स्पष्टरूपसे वर्णन किया गया है, वह क्रमयोगसे लक्षित होता है

ātmasiddhis tu vedeṣu procyate daśabhiḥ kramaiḥ | yad uktaṃ vedavādeṣu gahanaṃ vedadarśibhiḥ | tad anteṣu yathāyuktaṃ kramayogena lakṣyate ||

Vyāsa sprach: In den Veden wird das Erlangen des Selbst in zehn aufeinanderfolgenden Stufen gelehrt. Jene tiefgründige Wahrheit, die die Seher der Veda in vedischen Aussprüchen kundgetan haben—und die in den abschließenden Lehren (Vedānta) klar dargelegt ist—soll durch die disziplinierte Übung eines stufenweisen Yoga erkannt werden.
