शचीपति इन्द्र! जैसे तुम हो, वैसे ही बल और पराक्रमसे सम्पन्न अनेक सहस्र इन्द्र समाप्त हो चुके हैं ।। त्वामप्यतिबलं शक्र देवराजं बलोत्कटम्‌ | प्राप्त काले महावीर्य: काल: संशमयिष्यति,शक्र! तुम अपनेको अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली और उत्कट बलसे युक्त देवराज समझते हो; परंतु समय आनेपर महापराक्रमी काल तुम्हें भी शान्त कर देगा

Transliteration

tvām apy atibalaṃ śakra devarājaṃ balotkaṭam | prāpta-kāle mahāvīryaḥ kālaḥ saṃśamayīṣyati ||

Translation

Zu Indra, dem Herrn der Śacī, wurde gesprochen: „Wie du, so sind auch viele Tausende von Indras, reich an Kraft und Tapferkeit, bereits zu ihrem Ende gelangt. O Śakra, du hältst dich für überaus mächtig, für den König der Götter, wild an Stärke; doch wenn die bestimmte Stunde kommt, wird die Zeit, von großer Heldenkraft, auch dich zur Ruhe bringen.“
