Manu’s Instruction
राजोवाच ददतो<स्य न गृह्नासि विषम प्रतिभाति मे । दण्ड्यो हि त्वं मम मतो नास्त्यत्र खलु संशय:,राजाने कहा--विकृत! यह तुम्हें तुम्हारी वस्तु दे रहा है और तुम लेते नहीं हो। यह मुझे अनुचित जान पड़ता है; अतः मेरे मतमें तुम दण्डनीय हो; इसमें कोई संशय नहीं है
rājovāca: dadato 'sya na gṛhṇāsi; viṣamaṃ pratibhāti me | daṇḍyo hi tvaṃ mama mato nāsty atra khalu saṃśayaḥ ||
Der König sprach: „Wenn dieser Mann darbringt, was ihm gebührt, nimmst du es nicht an. Das erscheint mir unziemlich. Darum bist du nach meinem Urteil der Strafe verfallen — daran besteht wahrlich kein Zweifel.“
