अध्याय १७८ — प्राणवायुगतिः तथा शारीराग्निव्यवस्था
Adhyāya 178 — The courses of prāṇa-vāyu and the regulation of the bodily fire
क्षमिष्ये क्षिपमाणानां न हिंसिष्ये विहिंसित: । द्वेष्ययुक्त: प्रियं वक्ष्याम्यनादृत्य तदप्रियम्
kṣamiṣye kṣipamāṇānāṁ na hiṁsiṣye vihiṁsitaḥ | dveṣya-yuktaḥ priyaṁ vakṣyāmy anādṛtya tad apriyam ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Ich werde denen vergeben, die mich beschimpfen; selbst wenn man mir Schaden zufügt, werde ich nicht mit Schaden vergelten. Und selbst wenn ich mich in der Gesellschaft eines Menschen befinde, der des Hasses würdig ist, werde ich Angenehmes sprechen; seine unerfreulichen Worte missachtend, werde ich nicht mit unerfreulicher Rede antworten.“
