कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

निन्दया परविद्यानां स्वविद्यां ख्यापयन्ति च । वागस्त्रा वाकूछरी भूता द्रुग्धविद्याफला इव

nindayā paravidyānāṃ svavidyāṃ khyāpayanti ca | vāg-astrā vāk-ūśarī bhūtā drugdha-vidyā-phalā iva ||

Bhishma sprach: Manche preisen ihre eigene Gelehrsamkeit, indem sie die Gelehrsamkeit anderer herabsetzen. Mit der Rede als Waffe und Worten, die wie Pfeile treffen, wirken sie, als sei die Frucht des Wissens in ihnen sauer geworden — im Aufruhr gegen wahre Einsicht. Solche Menschen verkünden, indem sie fremdes Lernen verdammen, die Vorzüglichkeit des eigenen in trügerischer Weise.
