Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)

ब्रह्मदत्त उवाच अस्ति वै कृतमस्माभिरस्ति प्रतिकृतं त्वया । उभयं तत्‌ समीभूतं वस पूजनि मा गम:,ब्रह्मदत्त बोले--पूजनी! हमने तेरा अपराध किया था और तूने उसका बदला चुका लिया। अब हम दोनोंका कार्य बराबर हो गया। इसलिये अब यहीं रह। किसी दूसरी जगह न जा

brahmadatta uvāca | asti vai kṛtam asmābhir asti pratikṛtaṃ tvayā | ubhayaṃ tat samībhūtaṃ vasa pūjani mā gamaḥ ||

Brahmadatta sprach: „Wahrlich, ein Unrecht ist von uns begangen worden, und wahrlich, du hast es vergolten. Nun stehen beide Taten im Gleichgewicht. Darum, o Ehrwürdige, bleibe hier; geh nicht anderswohin.“
