Āśā-prabhava (आशाप्रभव) — On the Rise and Power of Hope/Expectation

Sumitra Itihāsa Begins

ते विश्रब्धा: प्रभाषन्ते संयच्छन्ति च मां सदा । ते मां काव्यपथे युक्त शुश्रुषुमनसूयकम्‌

te viśrabdhāḥ prabhāṣante saṃyacchanti ca māṃ sadā | te māṃ kāvyapathe yuktaṃ śuśrūṣum anasūyakam ||

Prahlāda sprach: „Jene Brahmanen reden, da sie mir vertrauen, frei mit mir; und unablässig halten sie mich in der Zügelung der Selbstbeherrschung. Sie sehen mich dem Pfad weisen Rates zugetan, dienstbereit und frei vom Fehlersuchen. Darum unterweisen sie mich fortwährend — als besprengten sie mich mit den nektargleichen Worten der Śāstras — wie Bienen eine Wabe mit dem Saft der Blüten befeuchten.“

Educational Q&A
