धात्रोपदिष्टं विषमं नूनं फलमसंस्कृतम् । यद् वयं त्वां जिघांसामस्त्वं चास्मान् कुरुसत्तम,“कुरुश्रेष्ठी इस समय जो हमलोग तुम्हें और तुम हमें मार डालना चाहते थे, यह अवश्य ही विधाताका दिया हुआ हमारे ही अशुद्ध कर्मोंका विषम फल है
dhātropadiṣṭaṃ viṣamaṃ nūnaṃ phalam asaṃskṛtam | yad vayaṃ tvāṃ jighāṃsāmas tvaṃ cāsmān kurusattama ||
Sañjaya sprach: „Gewiss ist dieses harte und ungleiche Ergebnis—eine unheilsame Frucht—vom Ordner des Geschicks zugeteilt worden. Denn so weit ist es gekommen: Wir trachten danach, dich zu töten, und du trachtest danach, uns zu töten, o Bester der Kurus.“
