शल्यस्य सेनापत्याभ्युपगमः | Śalya’s Acceptance of Command

न तु सन्धिमहं मन्ये प्राप्तकालं कथडठ्चन । “आपने स्नेहवश हितकी ही बात कही है। आपकी इस बातमें मैं दोष नहीं निकालता और न इसकी निन्दा ही करता हूँ। मेरा कथन तो इतना ही है कि अब किसी प्रकार सन्धिका अवसर नहीं रह गया है। मेरी ऐसी ही मान्यता है

na tu sandhim ahaṃ manye prāptakālaṃ kathaṃcana |

Sañjaya sprach: „Doch ich glaube nicht, dass jetzt noch ein Bündnis möglich ist—auf keinerlei Weise—denn die entscheidende Stunde ist bereits gekommen. Aus Zuneigung hast du das Heilsame gesagt; ich finde keinen Fehler in deinen Worten und tadle sie nicht. Ich sage nur dies: Die Gelegenheit zur Versöhnung ist vorüber.“
