तस्या: पचन्त्या: सुमहान् कालो5गात् पुरुषर्षभ । न च सम तान्यपच्यन्त दिनं च क्षयमभ्यगात्,पुरुषप्रवर! उन फलोंको पकाते हुए उसका बहुत समय व्यतीत हो गया, परंतु वे फल पक न सके। इतनेमें ही दिन समाप्त हो गया
tasyāḥ pacantyāḥ sumahān kālo 'gāt puruṣarṣabha | na ca sama tāny apacyanta dinaṃ ca kṣayam abhyagāt puruṣapravara ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Stier unter den Menschen, während sie weiterkochte, verging eine sehr lange Zeit; doch jene Früchte garte es nicht gleichmäßig. Indessen neigte sich der Tag selbst seinem Ende zu.“
