Educational Q&A

Attentive listening to sacred narration is presented as a prerequisite for receiving elevated knowledge; the verse frames divine consecration and glory as worthy subjects that uplift the listener and reinforce reverence for dharmic exemplars.

Vaiśampāyana signals a transition into a new episode: he is about to recount the abhiṣeka (ceremonial consecration) of Kumāra (Kārttikeya) and describe his prabhāva—his exceptional power and renown—addressing the king as an engaged listener.
