Consecration of Kārttikeya and the Enumeration of His Retinue
The verse underscores the vast spectrum of aiśvarya (sovereign power and splendor) across many orders of beings, suggesting that worldly and otherworldly might is manifold and graded—an implicit reminder that power is not exclusive to humans and must be understood within a larger cosmic hierarchy.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, describes an all-encompassing presence or display of powers and splendors associated with various celestial and non-human classes (gods, Gandharvas, Rākṣasas, Bhūtas, Yakṣas, birds, and serpents), heightening the epic scale of the scene by invoking the entire supernatural cosmos.
