तामापतन्ती सहसा शरै: कनकभूषणै:
tām āpatantīṁ sahasā śaraiḥ kanakabhūṣaṇaiḥ
Sañjaya sprach: „Dann stürzte sie mit einem Mal herab—getroffen von Pfeilen, die mit goldenem Schmuck geziert waren.“
संजय उवाच
The line underscores the sudden, forceful nature of battlefield consequences: in war, actions swiftly ripen into results, and even splendor (gold-adorned weaponry) accompanies destruction—inviting reflection on the ethical cost of martial glory.
Sañjaya describes a female figure (referred to as “her”) suddenly rushing/falling as she is struck by arrows that are ornamented with gold, emphasizing the immediacy and intensity of the combat scene.
