Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault

The verse foregrounds the ideal of kṣatriya conduct: in war, noble birth and great martial capacity are tied to responsibility—upholding one’s duty and the honor of one’s lineage through courageous action.
Sañjaya briefly frames a battlefield moment by identifying two prominent warriors as heroic, high-born, and foremost chariot-fighters, preparing the listener for their actions or encounter in the ongoing war.
