इषुभिर्विमलाभासैश्छादयन्तौ परस्परम्‌

Transliteration

iṣubhir vimalābhāsaiś chādayantau parasparam

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: Die beiden Krieger überschütteten einander mit Pfeilen von makellosem Glanz; so dicht war der Wechsel, dass sie einander zu verhüllen schienen. Der Vers betont die unerbittliche Gegenseitigkeit der Schlacht, in der Können und Entschlossenheit als ununterbrochener Wettstreit erscheinen, nicht als einseitiger Angriff.
