Rudra’s Omitted Share in the Yajña (रुद्रभागानुपपत्तिः — यज्ञोपाख्यानम्)

ततो वागमरैरुक्ता ज्यां तस्य धनुषो5च्छिनत्‌ । अथ तत्‌ सहसा राज॑श्कछिन्नज्यं व्यस्फुरद्‌ धनु:

tato vāg amarair uktā jyāṃ tasya dhanuṣo ’cchinat | atha tat sahasā rājan chinnajyaṃ vyasphurad dhanuḥ ||

Dann durchschnitt eine körperlose Stimme, von den Unsterblichen angeregt, die Sehne seines Bogens. O König, sobald die Sehne durchtrennt war, zuckte der Bogen—nun unbespannt—heftig und sprang davon. Die Begebenheit unterstreicht, dass selbst die mächtigste Waffe kraftlos wird, wenn höhere, unsichtbare Kräfte eingreifen, um zerstörerische Macht zu zügeln.
