Aśvatthāman’s Curse, Parikṣit’s Future, and the Mani’s Restitution
परिक्षिन्नाम नृपतिर्मिषतस्ते सुदुर्मते । दुर्मते! इसके बाद तेरे देखते-देखते महाबाहु कुरुराज परीक्षित् ही इस भूमण्डलका सम्राट् होगा
parikṣinnāma nṛpatir miṣatas te sudurmate | durmate! iṣke bāda tere dekhate-dekhate mahābāhu kururāja parīkṣit hi asya bhūmaṇḍalasya samrāṭ bhaviṣyati ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Ein König namens Parīkṣit wird erstehen—während du, o völlig Verblendeter, hilflos zusehen musst. Ja, vor deinen Augen wird der starkarmige Kuruprinz Parīkṣit zum Herrscher über diese ganze Erde werden.“
