Vidura frames dharma as compassionate responsibility: those who are elderly and delicate should be protected and honored, not subjected to harsh conditions like forest exile, and a righteous household should offer refuge and respectful care.
In the context of the Pandavas’ impending forest exile, Vidura intervenes on Kuntī’s behalf, arguing she should not go to the wilderness and offering to keep her in his own home with due honor, while blessing the exiles’ health and well-being.
