कल्माषीतीरसंस्थस्य गतत्त्वं शिष्यतां भूगो: । द्रष्टा सदा नारदस्ते धौम्यस्तेडयं पुरोहित:

kalmāṣītīrasaṃsthasya gatatvaṃ śiṣyatāṃ bhūgoḥ | draṣṭā sadā nāradaste dhaumyaste'dyaṃ purohitaḥ ||

Vidura erinnert den König daran, dass er nicht ohne Führung geblieben ist: Der Weise Bhṛgu, der am Ufer des Flusses Kalmāṣī weilt, hat ihn unterwiesen und ihm Gunst erwiesen; der göttliche Seher Nārada wacht unablässig über ihn; und sein eigener Hauspriester Dhaumya bleibt stets an seiner Seite. Die ethische Stoßrichtung lautet: Wer von solchen Lehrern und Hütern umgeben ist, soll mit Selbstzucht und Rechtschaffenheit handeln und nicht Unwissenheit oder mangelnden Rat vorschützen.
