Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel on Restraint and the Pāṇḍavas’ Authorized Return (धृतराष्ट्र-उपदेशः)
शकुनि बोला--राजन्! धनके लोभसे अधर्म करनेवाला मतवाला मनुष्य नरककुण्डमें सरिता है। अधिक उन्मत्त हुआ ढूँठा काठ हो जाता है। आप तो आयुमें बड़े और गुणोंमें श्रेष्ठ हैं। भरतवंशविभूषण! आपको नमस्कार है ।।
svapne tāni na dṛśyante jāgrato vā yudhiṣṭhira | kitavā yāni dīvyantaḥ pralapanty utkaṭā iva ||
Śakuni sprach: „O Yudhiṣṭhira, die wilden und tollkühnen Worte, die Spieler ausstoßen, wenn sie vom Spiel berauscht sind, darf man weder für wahr noch für bindend halten: Sie erscheinen nicht als Wahrheit, weder im Traum noch im Wachsein.“
