Yudhiṣṭhira’s Enumeration of Stakes in the Dice Match
अथ यज्ञविभूतिं तां काड्क्षसे भरतर्षभ । ऋषत्विजस्तव तन्वन्तु सप्ततन्तुं महाध्वरम्
atha yajña-vibhūtiṁ tāṁ kāṅkṣase bharatarṣabha | ṛṣitvijaḥ tava tanvantu saptatantuṁ mahādhvaram ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra sprach: „O Stier unter den Bharatas, wenn du jenen Glanz und Wohlstand begehrst, der aus dem Opfer erwächst, dann sollen die Seherpriester (ṛtvij) für dich das große königliche Ritual vollziehen—ein mächtiges Opfer, gewoben aus sieben ‘Fäden’, den heiligen Versmaßen wie dem Gāyatrī.“
