Rājasūyābhiṣeka-darśana: Duryodhana’s Observation of the Consecration
कमण्डलूनुपादाय जातरूपमयाउ्छुभान् । एतद् धनं समादाय प्रवेशं लेभिरे न च
kamaṇḍalūn upādāya jātarūpamayāñ śubhān | etad dhanaṃ samādāya praveśaṃ lebhire na ca ||
Duryodhana sprach: „Sie nahmen glückverheißende Wassergefäße (kamaṇḍalu) aus glänzendem Gold zur Hand und trugen dieses Vermögen fort — doch Einlass erhielten sie überhaupt nicht.“
दुर्योधन उवाच
External signs of auspiciousness and the mere acquisition of wealth do not secure true acceptance or rightful access; ethical intent and rightful conduct matter more than possessions.
Duryodhana describes a group taking golden water-pots and other wealth, yet failing to gain admission/entry—highlighting frustration and the limits of material power within the royal-court setting.
