तिथावप्यथ नक्षत्रे मुहूर्ते च गुणान्विते । प्रययौ पुण्डरीकाक्ष: शैब्यसुग्रीववाहन:,इसके बाद गरुडचिह्वनित ध्वजासे सुशोभित और गदा, चक्र, खड्ग एवं शाड्र्गधनुष आदि आयुधोंसे सम्पन्न शैब्य, सुग्रीव आदि घोड़ोंसे युक्त शुभ सुवर्णमय रथपर आखरूढ़ हो कमलनयन श्रीकृष्णने उत्तम तिथि, शुभ नक्षत्र एवं गुणयुक्त मुहूर्तमें यात्रा आरम्भ की
tithāv apy atha nakṣatre muhūrte ca guṇānvite | prayayau puṇḍarīkākṣaḥ śaibya-sugrīva-vāhanaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Dann, an einem glückverheißenden tithi, unter einem günstigen nakṣatra und in einem muhūrta voller guter Eigenschaften, brach Puṇḍarīkākṣa (Kṛṣṇa, der Lotosäugige), dessen Wagen von den Pferden Śaibya und Sugrīva gezogen wurde, zur Reise auf.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse reflects a dharmic ideal of acting with deliberation and propriety: important undertakings—especially by rulers—should begin at an appropriate, auspicious time (tithi, nakṣatra, muhūrta), symbolizing alignment of intention, order, and responsibility.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa, described as lotus-eyed, mounts his chariot drawn by the horses Śaibya and Sugrīva and departs at a favorable time, marking the commencement of a significant journey within the Sabha Parva storyline.
