तत्रास्त्रसंघातसमावृतं तदा बभूव राजंस्तुमुलं सम सर्वतः । तत् कर्णपार्थो शरवृष्टिसंघै- निरिन्तरं चक्रतुरम्बरं तदा,नरेश्वरर उस समय वहाँ अस्त्रसमूहोंसे आच्छादित होकर सारा प्रदेश सब ओरसे भयंकर प्रतीत होने लगा। कर्ण और अर्जुनने अपने बाणोंकी वर्षसिे आकाशको ठसाठस भर दिया
tatrāstrasaṅghātasamāvṛtaṃ tadā babhūva rājan tumulaṃ samaṃ sarvataḥ | tat karṇapārtho śaravṛṣṭisaṅghair nirantaraṃ cakratur ambaram tadā ||
Sañjaya sprach: Da, o König, wurde die ganze Gegend von Massen an Geschossen verhüllt und erschien ringsum gleichermaßen schrecklich. In jenem Augenblick machten Karṇa und Arjuna mit ununterbrochenen Pfeilströmen den Himmel fortwährend dicht gedrängt und erfüllt.
