अस्त्रैरस्त्राणि संवार्य प्रनिघ्नन् सव्यसाचिन: । चक्रे चाप्यधिकं पार्थात् स्ववीर्यमतिदर्शयन्,कर्ण अपने अस्त्रोंद्वारा सव्यसाची अर्जुनके अस्त्रोंका निवारण करके उन सबको नष्ट कर दिया और अपने पराक्रमका प्रदर्शन करते हुए उसने अपने-आपको अर्जुनसे अधिक शक्तिशाली सिद्ध कर दिखाया
astrair astrāṇi saṃvārya prani-ghnan savyasācinaḥ | cakre cāpy adhikaṃ pārthāt sva-vīryam ati-darśayan ||
Sañjaya sprach: Waffe gegen Waffe wehrte Karṇa die Geschosse des Savyasācin (Arjuna) ab und schlug sie nieder. Indem er das volle Maß seiner eigenen Tapferkeit zeigte, schien er Pārtha sogar zu übertreffen und machte seine Stärke auf dem Schlachtfeld sichtbar.
