भूमिशोभां करिष्यामि पातितै रथकुज्जरै: । “नाना प्रकारके बाणोंका प्रहार करके मैं शत्रुसैनिकोंको भयभीत कर दूँगा। धनुषको कानतक खींचकर छोड़े गये यमराष्ट्रवर्धक बाणोंद्वारा धराशायी किये गये रथों और हाथियोंसे रणभूमिकी शोभा बढ़ाऊँगा

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | bhūmiśobhāṃ kariṣyāmi pātitai rathakuñjaraiḥ |

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: «Ich werde den Glanz des Schlachtfeldes mehren, indem ich Wagen und Elefanten zu Boden strecke. Mit Angriffen aus mancherlei Pfeilen werde ich die feindlichen Reihen in Schrecken versetzen; und mit Pfeilen, die nach bis ans Ohr gespanntem Bogen entsandt werden—Pfeilen, die Yamas Reich vermehren—werde ich Wagen und Elefanten niederwerfen und so das Feld der Schlacht schmücken.»
