अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च
Arjuna’s Rapid Advance and the Bhīma–Śakuni Encounter
भीमसेनस्तत: कर्ण विहाय रथसत्तमम् | प्रययौ कौरवं सैन्यं कक्षमग्निरिव ज्वलन्,तब भीमसेनने भी रथियोंमें श्रेष्ठ कर्णको छोड़कर जैसे आग घास-फूँसको जलाती है, उसी प्रकार कौरव-सेनाको दग्ध करनेके लिये उसपर आक्रमण किया
bhīmasenas tataḥ karṇa vihāya rathasattamam | prayayau kauravaṃ sainyaṃ kakṣam agnir iva jvalan |
Sañjaya sprach: Darauf ließ Bhīmasena Karṇa — den Vornehmsten unter den Streitwagenkämpfern — beiseite und stürmte gegen das Heer der Kauravas vor, lodernd wie ein Feuer, das dürres Gestrüpp verzehrt. Die Szene betont Bhīmas unbeirrbare Kampfentschlossenheit: selbst wenn ein Hauptgegner noch steht, wendet er sich der größeren Pflicht zu, die feindliche Ordnung zu brechen und ihre Kampfkraft zu verbrennen.
