कर्णवधार्थं धनञ्जयस्य प्रतिज्ञा — Arjuna’s resolve for Karṇa’s defeat
ननाद सुमहानादं भीषयाणो जगर्ज च । मान्यवर! तदनन्तर दूसरे भललसे उनकी ध्वजाको बींध डाला। राजन! उस समय विश्वकर्माका बनाया हुआ वह महान् वानर सबको भयभीत करता हुआ बड़े जोर-जोरसे गर्जना करने लगा
sañjaya uvāca | nanāda sumahānādaṃ bhīṣayāṇo jagarja ca |
Sañjaya sprach: Er stieß ein ungeheures, weithin dröhnendes Brüllen aus, erschreckte die Umstehenden und donnerte immer wieder. Danach wurde mit einem weiteren scharfen Pfeil sein Banner durchbohrt; und in jenem Augenblick jagte das gewaltige Affenwappen—von Viśvakarman gefertigt—allen Furcht ein, als es mächtig aufbrüllte.
