अर्जुनस्य द्रोणिप्रतिघातः कर्णोपसर्पणं च

नानाबाणनिपाताश्ष द्विपाश्वरथनि:स्वन: । सिंहनादश्न॒ वीराणामभवद् दारुणस्तदा,उस समय नाना प्रकारके बाणोंके गिरने, हाथियोंके चिग्घाड़ने, घोड़ोंके हींसने, रथके घरघराने तथा वीरोंके सिंहनाद करनेका दारुण शब्द वहाँ गूँज उठा

nānābāṇanipātāś ca dvipāśvarathaniḥsvanaḥ |
siṃhanādaś ca vīrāṇām abhavad dāruṇas tadā ||
Sañjaya sprach: Da erhob sich auf jenem Schlachtfeld ein schreckliches Tosen—Pfeile vieler Arten prasselten herab, Elefanten trompeteten, Pferde wieherten, Streitwagen dröhnten, und die Helden stießen löwengleiche Schlachtrufe aus.
