Educational Q&A

That attentive recitation and hearing of this Mahābhārata section is spiritually efficacious—comparable in merit to Vedic study—and that the narrative upholds the dharma of fearless kṣatriya conduct, where courage and steadfastness in rightful battle are praised as sources of lasting renown.

Sañjaya introduces or commends the forthcoming/ongoing account within the Droṇa Parvan, stating its religious value (equal to Vedic study when heard or recited) and indicating that it chiefly narrates the great glory of undaunted warrior-kṣatriyas engaged in battle.
