ततस्तुमुलमाकाशे शरवर्षमजायत । पावकार्चि: परीतं तत् पार्थमेवाभिपुप्लुवे,फिर तो आकाशमें बाणोंकी भयंकर वर्षा होने लगी और सब ओर फैली हुई आगकी लपटें अर्जुनपर ही टूट पड़ीं
tatas tumulam ākāśe śaravarṣam ajāyata | pāvakārciḥ parītaṃ tat pārtham evābhipupluve ||
Sañjaya sprach: Da erhob sich am Himmel ein tobender Pfeilregen. Von züngelnden Flammen umgeben, wälzte sich dieser Ansturm heran und stürzte vor allem auf Pārtha (Arjuna) nieder, als bündele sich die Wut der Schlacht auf ihn allein.
