Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the escalation and intensity of battlefield action: splendidly crafted weapons become instruments of lethal intent. Ethically, it points to the grave consequences of choosing war—where skill and ornament serve destruction, reminding readers of the heavy moral burden carried by combatants and leaders who sustain such conflict.

Sañjaya narrates that a warrior hurls a blazing, gold-ornamented mace decorated with a hundred bells at his opponent during the battle, marking a forceful exchange of heavy weapons in the Drona Parva war sequence.
