Transliteration

tām āpatantīṁ vegena gadāṁ jvālākulāṁ tataḥ

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: Dann sah er jene lodernde Keule—von Flammen umwunden—mit gewaltiger Geschwindigkeit herabsausen. Das Bild betont die Wildheit des Krieges, in dem Waffen zu Werkzeugen überwältigender Macht werden und Selbstbeherrschung, Entschlossenheit und kṣatriya-Pflicht im Chaos auf die Probe stellen.
