त॑ भीमसेन: समरे तीक्ष्णाग्रैरक्षेणोच्छरै: । अलायुधस्तु तानस्तान्‌ भीमेन विशिखान्‌ रणे

taṁ bhīmasenaḥ samare tīkṣṇāgrair akṣaṇoccharaiḥ | alāyudhas tu tān astān bhīmena viśikhān raṇe

Sañjaya sprach: Mitten im Kampf traf Bhīmasena ihn mit scharf zugespitzten Pfeilen, schnell wie ein Augenblick. Doch Alāyudha ertrug in eben diesem Gefecht die von Bhīma geschossenen Geschosse—und begegnete der Gewalt mit unbeugsamer Standhaftigkeit im Wirrwarr des Krieges.
