एवं स वै महाकायो मायया लाघवेन च । अस्त्राणि तानि दिव्यानि जघान रिपुसूदन:,इस प्रकार शत्रुओंका संहार करनेवाले विशालकाय घटोत्कचने अपनी माया तथा अस्त्र-संचालनकी शीघ्रतासे कर्णके उन दिव्यास्त्रोंको नष्ट कर दिया
evaṁ sa vai mahākāyo māyayā lāghavena ca | astrāṇi tāni divyāni jaghāna ripusūdanaḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: So machte jener mächtige, riesenhafte Krieger, der Feindbezwinger, durch die Kraft seiner Täuschung und durch schnelle Meisterschaft im Waffengebrauch jene himmlischen Geschosse unwirksam.
