नारायणास्त्र-शमनं द्रौणि-प्रहारश्च

बभूव तत्र सैन्यानां शब्द: सुविपुलो निशि । उस रात्रिके समय दौड़ते, भागते और पुनः लौटते हुए सैनिकोंका महान् कोलाहल सुनायी पड़ता था
babhūva tatra sainyānāṃ śabdaḥ suvipulo niśi |
Sañjaya sprach: Dort erhob sich in der Nacht unter den Heeren ein überaus gewaltiger Lärm — ein überwältigendes Dröhnen von Soldaten, die rannten, flohen und dann wieder umkehrten. Die Szene lässt die sittliche Unordnung spüren, die den Nachtkampf begleitet: Furcht, Verwirrung und den Zusammenbruch der Disziplin inmitten der Gewalt.
