नारायणास्त्र-शमनं द्रौणि-प्रहारश्च

महत्या सेनया सार्ध ततो युद्धमवर्तत । इसी प्रकार आपके पुत्रोंने भी विशाल सेनाके साथ आकर द्विजश्रेष्ठ कृपाचार्यको अपने बीचमें कर लिया। फिर दोनों दलोंमें घोर युद्ध होने लगा
mahatyā senayā sārdha tato yuddham avartata |
Sañjaya sprach: Dann, als ein gewaltiges Heer versammelt war, setzte sich die Schlacht in Gang. Ebenso kamen deine Söhne mit ihrem großen Aufgebot heran, stellten Kṛpācārya, den Besten unter den Zweimalgeborenen, in ihre Mitte; und darauf erhob sich ein furchtbarer Kampf zwischen den beiden Heeren.
