अध्याय १४६ — निशायां सात्यकिदुर्योधनयुद्धम् / Chapter 146 — Night Battle: Sātyaki and Duryodhana; Śakuni’s Encirclement of Arjuna
देवदानवगन्धर्वान् विजेतारो हाविस्मिता: । स्ववीर्यविजये युक्ता नैते परपरिग्रहा:,देवताओं, दानवों तथा गन्धर्वोपर भी वे विजयी होते हैं। फिर भी इसके लिये उनके मनमें गर्व या विस्मय नहीं होता। वे अपने ही बलसे विजय पानेका उद्योग करते हैं। ये वृष्णिवंशी कभी पराधीन नहीं होते हैं
sañjaya uvāca | devadānavagandharvān vijetāro hāvismitāḥ | svavīryavijaye yuktā naite parapārigrāhāḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: Sie sind Bezwinger selbst der Götter, der Dānavas und der Gandharvas; und doch werden sie darüber weder stolz noch verwundert. Auf Sieg durch eigene Kraft bedacht, sind diese Vṛṣṇi-Helden niemals von anderen abhängig und beugen sich keiner fremden Herrschaft.
