धृष्टद्युम्नस्य द्रोणाभिमुख्यं तथा सात्यकि-कर्ण-समागमः

प्रहरिष्यन् हृतो बाहुरदृश्येन किरीटिना । वेगेन न्न्यपतद् भूमौ पठ्चास्य इव पन्नग:,प्रहार करनेके लिये उद्यत हुई वह भुजा अलक्ष्य अर्जुनके बाणसे कटकर पाँच मुखवाले सर्पकी भाँति बड़े वेगसे पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़ी
praharīṣyan hṛto bāhur adṛśyena kirīṭinā | vegena nyapatad bhūmau pañcāsya iva pannagaḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: Als jener Arm zum Schlag erhoben war, wurde er durch den unsichtbaren, pfeilschnellen Schuss des diademgeschmückten Arjuna abgetrennt; und mit gewaltigem Schwung fiel er zur Erde wie eine fünfköpfige Schlange.
