अजेया: पाण्डवास्तात देवैरपि सवासवै: । नच तद् बुध्यते मन्द: पुत्रो दुर्योधनो मम,तात! इन्द्र आदि देवताओंके लिये भी पाण्डवोंपर विजय पाना असम्भव है; परंतु मेरा मूर्ख पुत्र दुर्योधन इस बातको नहीं समझता है
sañjaya uvāca |
ajeyāḥ pāṇḍavās tāta devair api savāsavaiḥ |
na ca tad budhyate mandaḥ putro duryodhano mama ||
Sañjaya sprach: O lieber Vater, die Pāṇḍavas sind unbezwingbar—selbst für die Götter, selbst wenn Indra sie anführt. Doch mein stumpfsinniger Sohn Duryodhana begreift dies nicht.
संजय उवाच
Clear-sighted counsel must be heeded: arrogance and delusion (here, Duryodhana’s refusal to grasp reality) lead to ruin, while recognizing the moral and strategic strength of the righteous side is part of wise discernment.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, warning that the Pāṇḍavas are effectively invincible—even the gods with Indra could not overcome them—yet Duryodhana persists in his misguided confidence and will not accept this assessment.
