एष सैन्यानि शत्रूणां विधमामि शितै: शरै: । 'सारथे! इस महायुद्धमें देवराज इन्द्रके समान मेरा पराक्रम तुम देखो। मैं अभी-अभी अपने पैने बाणोंसे शत्रुओंकी सेनाओंका संहार कर डालता हूँ
sañjaya uvāca | eṣa sainyāni śatrūṇāṁ vidhamāmi śitaiḥ śaraiḥ | sārathe! asmin mahāyuddhe devarāja-indra-samam mama parākramaṁ tvaṁ paśya | ahaṁ adyaiva śatrūṇāṁ sainyāni śitaiḥ śaraiḥ saṁharāmi |
Sañjaya sprach: „Nun werde ich die feindlichen Heerscharen mit meinen scharfen Pfeilen zerschmettern. O Wagenlenker, sieh in dieser großen Schlacht meine Kraft, gleich der Indras, des Königs der Götter. Noch in diesem Augenblick werde ich die Heere der Gegner mit spitzen Geschossen vernichten.“
