Duryodhana Seeks Droṇa’s Counsel; Imperative to Protect Jayadratha; Pāñcāla Assault on Duryodhana

त॑ कृच्छामापदं प्राप्तं दृष्टयवा परमधन्विन: । समापेतु: परीप्सन्तो धनंजयशरार्दितम्‌,धनंजयके बाणोंसे पीड़ित हुए दुर्योधनको भारी विपत्तिमें पड़ा हुआ देख श्रेष्ठ धनुर्धर योद्धा उसकी रक्षाके लिये आ पहुँचे

taṁ kṛcchrām āpadaṁ prāptaṁ dṛṣṭvā te paramadhanvinaḥ | samāpetuḥ parīpsanto dhanañjaya-śarārditam ||

Sañjaya sprach: Als sie Duryodhana in eine schwere Notlage geraten sahen—von den Pfeilen Dhanañjayas (Arjunas) gepeinigt—eilten die vorzüglichsten Bogenschützen zu ihm, entschlossen, ihn zu schützen und ihn im Gedränge der Schlacht zu bergen.
