Duryodhana Seeks Droṇa’s Counsel; Imperative to Protect Jayadratha; Pāñcāla Assault on Duryodhana
वज्राशनिसमा घोरा: परकायावभेदिन: । शरा: कुर्वन्ति ते नार्थ पार्थ काद्य विडम्बना,'पार्थ! वज़ और अशनिके समान भयंकर तथा शत्रुओंके शरीरको विदीर्ण कर देनेवाले तुम्हारे वे बाण आज कुछ काम नहीं कर रहे हैं, यह कैसी विडम्बना है?”
sañjaya uvāca |
vajrāśanisamā ghorāḥ parakāyāvabhedinaḥ |
śarāḥ kurvanti te nārtha pārtha kādya viḍambanā ||
Sañjaya sprach: „O Pārtha! Deine Pfeile — schrecklich wie Donnerkeil und Blitz, berühmt dafür, die Leiber der Feinde zu spalten — bewirken heute gar nichts. Was ist das für eine seltsame Ironie?“
