Makara-vyūha and Krauñca-prativyūha at Sunrise (मकरव्यूहः क्रौञ्चप्रतिव्यूहश्च)

भूतं भव्यं भविष्यं च मार्कण्डेयो5भ्युवाच ह । यज्ञं त्वां चैव यज्ञानां तपक्ष॒ तपसामपि,'मार्कण्डेयजीने आपको भूत, भविष्य और वर्तमान स्वरूप बताया है। वे आपको यज्ञोंका यज्ञ और तपस्याओंका भी सारभूत तप बताया करते हैं

bhūtaṃ bhavyaṃ bhaviṣyaṃ ca mārkaṇḍeyo 'bhyuvāca ha | yajñaṃ tvāṃ caiva yajñānāṃ tapaḥ tapaḥ tapasām api ||

Bhīṣma sprach: «Mārkaṇḍeya hat dich wahrlich als Verkörperung von Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft verkündet. Und er erklärt dich auch zum Opfer unter den Opfern und zur wesentlichen Askese — zum Herzen aller Askese.»
