Arjuna’s Advance toward Bhīṣma; The Gāṇḍīva’s Signal and the Armies’ Convergence (भीष्माभिमुखगमनम् — गाण्डीवनिर्घोष-ध्वजवर्णनम्)
तांस्तु भीतान् समालक्ष्य भीमसेनं च मूर्च्छितम्
tāṁstu bhītān samālakṣya bhīmasenaṁ ca mūrcchitam
Sañjaya sprach: Als er sie vom Schrecken ergriffen sah und auch Bhīmasena bewusstlos daliegen, offenbarte die Szene ein plötzliches Zusammenbrechen des Mutes im Getöse der Schlacht—eine ethische Mahnung, dass selbst die Mächtigen überwältigt werden können, wenn Gewalt und Schock die menschliche Belastbarkeit übersteigen.
