भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ६२: वासुदेवमहात्म्यप्रशंसा (देव–ब्रह्मसंवादः)

अद्य पाण्डुसुतानेक: ससैन्यान्‌ सह बन्धुभि: । सो<हं निवारयिष्यामि सर्वलोकस्य पश्यत:,“आज मैं अकेला ही सबके देखते-देखते सेना और बन्धुओंसहित समस्त पाण्डवोंको आगे बढ़नेसे रोक दूँगा'

adya pāṇḍusutānekaḥ sasainyān saha bandhubhiḥ | so'haṃ nivārayiṣyāmi sarvalokasya paśyataḥ ||

Sañjaya sprach: „Heute werde ich allein die Söhne Pāṇḍus — samt ihren Heeren und ihren Verwandten — am weiteren Vorrücken hindern; und ich werde es vor den Augen aller Menschen tun.“
