Sañjaya sprach: Da nahm jener große Wagenkämpfer in raschem Entschluss einen anderen Bogen und spannte ihn in einem Augenblick. Er strahlte wie Indras Bogen.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined readiness and composure in crisis: an accomplished warrior does not collapse when a weapon is lost or damaged, but promptly restores capability. Ethically, it reflects kṣatriya-dharma—steadfastness, skill, and responsibility in the battlefield role.
Sañjaya describes the great warrior (contextually Bhīṣma/Devavrata) quickly taking up a second bow and stringing it in a moment. The bow’s radiance is compared to Indra’s bow, emphasizing its formidable, awe-inspiring appearance and the warrior’s undiminished fighting capacity.
