भीष्म उवाच नैनं पश्यामि कौन्तेय यो मां युध्यन्तमाहवे । विजयेत पुमान् कश्रित् साक्षादपि शतक्रतु:
bhīṣma uvāca
nainaṃ paśyāmi kaunteya yo māṃ yudhyantam āhave |
vijayet pumān kaścit sākṣād api śatakratuḥ ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „O Sohn der Kuntī, ich sehe keinen Mann, der mich besiegen könnte, während ich auf dem Schlachtfeld kämpfe. In der Stunde des Krieges kann mich niemand überwinden — nicht einmal Śatakratu (Indra) selbst, stünde er leibhaftig vor mir.“
