भीष्मविक्रमदर्शनं तथा क्रौञ्चारुणव्यूहविधानम् | Bhīṣma’s Ascendancy and the Organization of the Krauñcāruṇa Formation
व्यासप्रसादाच्छुतवानेतद् गुहामहं परम् । योगं योगेश्वरात् कृष्णात् साक्षात् कथयत: स्वयम्
sañjaya uvāca | vyāsaprasādāc chrutavān etad guhyaṃ ahaṃ param | yogaṃ yogeśvarāt kṛṣṇāt sākṣāt kathayataḥ svayam ||
Sañjaya sprach: „Durch Vyasas Gnade habe ich dieses höchste Geheimnis — dieses tiefgründige Yoga — unmittelbar von Krishna, dem Herrn des Yoga selbst, vernommen, als er es persönlich aussprach.“ Der Vers betont, dass Sañjayas Bericht kein Hörensagen ist, sondern ein treues, göttlich verliehenes Zeugnis einer heiligen Lehre, die mitten in der moralischen Krise des Krieges verkündet wurde.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the authority and sanctity of the teaching: Sanjaya’s knowledge comes through Vyasa’s grace, enabling him to hear Krishna—the Lord of Yoga—speaking directly. Ethically, it stresses faithful transmission of truth and the idea that profound spiritual insight is received through divine favor and disciplined receptivity.
Sanjaya, narrating the Kurukshetra events to Dhritarashtra, explains how he is able to report Krishna’s confidential instruction: Vyasa has granted him the capacity (divine vision/privilege) to hear and recount Krishna’s words as they were spoken.
